About 1·2·1 IT

Geraldine Walsh, the Managing Director, takes a very active role in the running of 1·2·1 IT. She has over 20 years experience, working in various IT management roles around the world.

Over the last 6 years, Geraldine has been providing a few months per year, consultancy and project management skills to Metroplex Ireland. Now called Martin Brower, they are the appointed distributor for McDonalds Ireland.

The most recent project managed was the Implementation of a bespoke inhouse Enterprise Resouce Planning software system with strict deadlines. Geraldine managed teams in Ireland, the UK and USA in order to facilitate the change over from the previous in house system with no downtime. This project also involved the change over of the financial systems.

A previous project involved the management and Implementation of a voice technology based warehouse management and supply chain system including integration with internal systems, product picking, stock control, labour management and food traceability. Geraldine provided co-ordination, leadership and management of internal teams to formulate specification through to complete implementation. Liaising with US, UK and Irish contract companies incl. application development, infrastructure implementation and upgrade, user and acceptance testing and development on site in various environments and chambers, freezers, chill rooms and ambient warehouse conditions. Provision of on-site training incl. the production of manuals for users and administrators. Responsibility for implementation from manual to voice controlled computerized systems.

In the UK, Geraldine was involved in the planning and re-structuring of the Global Silverhawk Logistics Database. She contributed to the systems analysis of the new database, travelling and liaising with all 12 offices worldwide. She assisted with the debugging and testing of new modules and with the installation and training in all offices worldwide. She wrote user manuals for the new database and updates as changes occurred. It involved implementation of ISO work processes and standardisation for efficient business.
